GAMES TO WATCH -- WEEK 8

UCLA [5-0, 2-0 Pac-12] @ STANFORD [5-1, 1-1 Pac-12] -- Undefeated Bruins journey to Palo Alto, site of last year's conference championship game involving both schools.   UCLA continued its perfect season to date with 37-10 romp over Cal while Stanford was upset at Utah, 27-21.   Cardinal, permitting 22.2 points/game, must contend with Bruin offense that's clicking at 45.8 clip, second only to Oregon in Pac-12.   UCLA's 547.0 total offense average [also second to Oregon] will contend with Stanford defense that permits 379.7, 7th in conference overall.   Game could well be decided in favor of team that handles run game.   Bruins rush for 223.4 yards/game [4th in Pac-12] while Cardinal allows just 123.4 [2nd].   UCLA is +4 in giveaway/takeaway ratio while Stanford is even.  Cardinal run game led by senior RB TYLER GAFFNEY [108-570-7 TD], who returned to Stanford after stint in minor league baseball with Pittsburgh Pirates organization.   Bruins rush leader is junior RB JORDON JAMES [74-463-5 TD].   Soph QB BRETT HUNDLEY [109-160-1,469-12 TD-4 INT] ranks 5th overall among Pac-12 passers and second in completion percentage.   Stanford junior QB KEVIN HOGAN [82-134-1,178-12 TD-4 INT] suffered first loss last week after taking over as lead signal-caller midway through '12 season.  Junior wideout TY MONTGOMERY [31-514-5 TD] is Cardinal's top receiving threat and is also formidable on special teams; he returned opening kickoff for TD in Stanford's home victory over Washington on Oct. 5.  He leads all Pac-12 kick returners and has 2 TD returns already.   Both schools possess quality kicking games as Bruins KA'IMI FAIRBAIRN & Cardinal's JORDAN WILLIAMSON are each 9-of-12 on year.     Junior LB ERIC KENDRICKS is UCLA's leading stopper [28-29-47] while Stanford is led by LB SHAYNE SKOV 24-28-52, 2.5 sacks] & ED REYNOLDS [29-15-44].   The Series:   Eighty-fifth meeting in series that began in 1925.  UCLA has won 45 times to 36 for Stanford with three ties.   Next Three:   UCLA [@Oregon, Colorado, @Arizona], Stanford [@Oregon State, Oregon [Nov 7], @USC.   Last UCLA win:   2008, 23-20 @ Los Angeles, CA.  Last Stanford win:  2012, 27-24 [Pac-12 title game] @ Palo Alto, CA.   Last UCLA win @ Palo Alto: 2007, 45-17.   Kickoff:   12:30 p.m. [PDT]/3:30 p.m. [EDT].   TV:   ABC/ESPN
