WASHINGTON STATE [6-5, 4-4 Pac-12] @ WASHINGTON [7-4, 4-4 Pac-12] - The 106th Apple Cup contest takes place in newly-renovated Husky Stadium.   A Washington victory would give Huskies their first 8-win season since 2001 and first under HC STEVE SARKISIAN.   Cougars meantime achieved bowl eligibility last weekend and seek victory to stabilize their bowl possibilities.  A 7-win season would be WSU's first since 2003 and first under HC MIKE LEACH.   Contest figures to be high-scoring as Washington averages 39.5 points/game and Washington State 31.0.  Huskies rush @ 244.7 clip to just 60.0 for Cougars.   Washington State's preferred ball movement method is through air; it has 2nd-rated Pac-12 pass offense @ 372.0 yards/game.  Cougars have attempted & completed more passes than any other Pac-12 school.   Huskies junior RB BISHOP SANKEY [272-1,574-17 TD] has more rush TDs than anyone in conference, is second in overall rushing and yards/game [143.1].  Cougars junior QB CONNOR HALLIDAY [380-597-3,905-26 TD-19 INT] triggers Leach's pass-happy offense, much of which he used while @ Texas Tech.  Halliday is 2nd in Pac-12 passing behind Oregon State's Sean Mannion.   Soph WR GABE MARKS [65-724-6 TD] is Halliday's prime target.   Senior KEITH PRICE [201-310-19 TD-4 INT] has been sidelined of late [shoulder] but redshirt freshman CYLER MILES has more than capably filled in.   Price could return to action this weekend.   Sankey's 17 rush TDs lead Pac-12 ball carriers.  Husky senior K TRAVIS COONS is having banner season, connecting on 12 of 13 FG attempts and 55 of 56 PATs for 91 total points, 2nd in conference.   WSU senior S DEONE BUCANNON leads all Pac-12 tacklers [68-34-102] and averages 9.3 stops/game.  The Series:   Washington has won 67 times to 32 for Washington State with six ties.   Last Washington State win:   2012, 31-28 [OT] in Pullman, WA.   Last Washington win:  2011, 38-21, in Seattle, WA.   Last Washington State win in Seattle:   2007, 35-28.   Kickoff:   12:30 p.m. [Friday] PST/3:30 p.m. EST.   TV:  FOX Sports
